Cartoon and caricature by A.P. Malishevsky
The State Museum of Contemporary Russian History invites you to visit the exhibition "Metropolitan Life at the Turn of Two Eras", presenting graphic art by A.P. Malishevsky (1898-1933). The exhibition rescues from underserved oblivion the name of a graphic artist who painted cartoons and caricatures reflecting various aspects of life in the 20s and 30s of the past 20th century. A.P. Malishevsky, who had a short, but stormy life, found the subjects for his works among the realities of his time. The exhibition shows the diversity of his graphic techniques from refined works in the late Art Nouveau style to experiments in cubism and futurism, and from genre paintings to cartoons and caricatures. Several paintings displayed at the exhibition will be donated by the artist's heirs to the museum as a gift.
