Preserved relics of the Solovetsky Monastery
In the Exhibition Hall of the Assumption Belfry - a part of the Moscow Kremlin Museum - opened an exhibition "Preserved relics of the Solovetsky Monastery". This exposition revives the tradition of displaying exhibits from the funds of the Moscow Kremlin Museum. For the first time the exhibition presents over 100 masterpieces from the Solovetsky Monastery - a richest depository containing genuine relics of the Russian culture and Orthodox Church, preserved by several generations of museum staff. This exhibition in Moscow Kremlin was preceded by a large-scale research conducted by the research teams of the museum's departments, such as "Armory Chamber", "Museums-Cathedrals", and the department of manuscripts, printed and graphic materials. The exhibition will be open until September 19, 2001.
